FRIEND OF THE DOGUE
The Friend of the Dogue recognizes and honors an individual who has visibly demonstrated extraordinary dedication and altruism contributing to the welfare of the Dogue de Bordeaux in the United States. This individual is considered to be first among his/her peers with regard to concern for the wellbeing of dogues in both the present and future generations. By way of example, but not limitation, consideration for this award may include involvement and contributions on behalf of breed education, mentorship, rescue, health, and other areas, over a period of years.
Eligibility:
| Nominee must be a member in good standing of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America at the time the nomination is submitted and at the time the award is made. |
General Rules:
| This is considered a lifetime award and will be given only once to any individual. | |
| Nominator need not be a member of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America. | |
| Nomination must be made by completing the relevant form. | |
| Nominations must be received by the Awards Committee no later than January 31st of the year the award may be presented at the National Specialty. If no nominee is selected in any given year, nominations will be held over for consideration in subsequent years, without re-nomination being necessary, so long as all eligibility requirements continue to be met. | |
| The Award Committee may recommend revisions to this program and such revisions will be approved by a majority vote of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Board of Directors. Notification of revisions will be made to the membership on a timely basis. |
