Thor came to us in October, 1999 and it was love at first sight. In trying to think of an appropriate name, we knew it had to be representative of all the features of a Dogue: strong, intelligent, protective, loyal and fearless. Little did we know that after deciding on Thor, he would be very afraid of thunder. Oh well, we loved him anyway. From the beginning, he was the talk of the neighborhood. The kids loved him, poked him, rode him and played with him. He played right back and never seemed to mind their curiosity. He loved his trips to the local Petsmart where he could show off his knowledge of hand signals and tricks. He’d do anything for a treat. Thor loved to play ball, “find”, snuggle in front of the fire and sleep. He had so many nicknames and answered to all of them, he was so smart. We tried to tell him that he was not head of the household, but he knew better. He occupied a huge space in all of our hearts and was a wonderful son and brother. His passing has left a huge void in our family. We were truly blessed to have him in our life for 12 short years. His spirit remains in our home and our hearts and will do so forever.
